Make your own Ranch dressing for full-flavor salads without processed ingredients or excessive calories! This recipe is a healthier take on the classic favorite, boasting the tangy richness of Greek yogurt and flavorful herbs without sacrificing indulgence. It’s also easy to make.

You can vary the herbs you include so you can get the exact flavor combination you’re looking for. It’s a perfect dip or dressing. You can also use it as a condiment to make it easier to eat your vegetables!

Variations

  • Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil for healthy fats and a thin but satisfying texture
  • Add ½ cup of ripe pureed avocado for healthy fats and a creamier texture. Blend the ingredients in a blender or with a hand mixer to keep them smooth
  • Try white wine or rice vinegar instead of lemon juice
  • Add chopped mint, parsley, cilantro, basil, or any other herbs according to your tastes
  • Give it an Italian flair with dried Italian herbs or dried basil, rosemary, and oregano

Recipe for Light and Creamy Ranch Dressing

Makes 5 servings (2 tablespoons each)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons fresh lemon juice (or can sub apple cider vinegar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill or fresh chopped chives
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons water to thin dressing
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon honey

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a bowl or a mason jar and mix until well combined. 
  2. If using a mason jar, you can put the lid on and shake the jar until well combined.

Nutrition information per serving: 20 calories; 0.5 grams total fat; 120 mg sodium; 2 grams carbohydrates; 4 grams protein
