About the webinar:
GLP-1 represents an opportunity to change the game relative to obesity. While health care has made amazing advances relative to care with new technologies and drugs, the incidence of many chronic conditions and other health challenges tie back to the rising prevalence of obesity.
Obesity is a complex, multi-causal problem with genetic, lifestyle, and social determinants of health (SDoH) roots. GLP-1 drugs represent a great new tool in our toolkit to help address the obesity challenge. However, it’s important to understand that drugs alone will not address the underlying issues and patients need the additional support, especially in behavior change, to achieve and sustain outcomes. Digital health with artificial intelligence (AI) represents a great tool in supporting those needs, including medication support, side effect management, coaching support for lifestyle changes like nutrition, and exercise.
It’s important to remember that taking a drug alone like GLP-1 agonist, especially for weight loss, requires a lot of support for patients. Given our health care resource challenges, it is difficult for patients to get the full support they need. It’s important for payers, employers, and providers to recognize that monitoring, coaching and managing lifestyle are equally important to the drugs themselves to helping patients manage their weight. We have an opportunity to really change the narrative around how we do that, including preventing the need for these drugs in populations that are not yet in the obesity range.
Given widespread attention on new weight management treatments, health insurers and employers seek solutions to assist patients and employees in losing weight and reducing downstream complications that could be scalable. Join this session to learn how to leverage AI to combine clinician-guided medication management, patient behavior change, and remote monitoring to improve outcomes.
Attendees will learn about:
- The components of a holistic weight management and metabolic disease management solution that meets members where they are
- Best practices to address rising consumer demand, from digital solutions for everyone to clinician guided care for those who truly need it
- How technology – and specifically conversational AI – can drive behavior change and augment clinical care
