Hu Joins World’s Top Digital Health Founders With Hall of Fame Recognition
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — November 10th— Julia Hu, CEO and Co-Founder of Lark Health, has been inducted into the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Health Awards Hall of Fame. Granted annually to a select few individuals, the prestigious Hall of Fame award honors those who have “made substantial contributions in the field of digital health innovation.” Through this recognition, Julia has been identified as a top innovator and inspiration to the digital health community for her work to transform the delivery of virtual care.
Started in 2019, the UCSF Health Awards recognize “the best new products and technologies” in digital health and life sciences. Of the thousands of applications received since the program began, only ten leaders in the digital health industry have been selected to join the Hall of Fame. Joining her in this year’s recognition are Deborah Kilpatrick, CEO of Evidation Health and Iyah Romm, CEO of Cityblock Health.
“The UCSF Health Awards Hall of Fame award recognizes excellence in digital health,” said Mark Goldstein, Chairman and Founder, UCSF Health Hub. “Joining the ranks of the UCSF Health Awards Hall of Fame places this year’s inductees among the world's top digital health founders.”
Julia has dedicated her career to developing technology to make the healthcare experience more seamless and accessible. Managing her own lifelong chronic condition has given her a deep, personal understanding of the importance of compassionate, personalized, high-touch care, and she co-founded Lark to deliver that experience to more people with chronic care needs. By working with health plans and employers, Lark provides a seamless and scalable care experience through its AI-powered platform, developed with a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy framework. The result is a transformative, round-the-clock virtual care experience built on industry-leading technology that can reach users throughout their care journey.
“We founded Lark with a commitment to helping anyone with a chronic condition improve their quality of life,” said Julia Hu, co-founder and CEO of Lark. “This mission is deeply personal to me, and I am incredibly honored to receive this recognition from UCSF. This award is a testament to the entire Lark team and our work together to build a virtual solution capable of delivering compassionate, coordinated, and personalized care at scale.”
Julia’s Hall of Fame induction follows a year of significant validation for the company. This month, Lark announced the closing of a $100 million Series D funding round led by Deerfield Management Company. This comes after adding five key members to its executive team, and the publication of peer-reviewed research by Lark’s clinical research team in Frontiers of Digital Health examining older adults’ digital health engagement in August.
